Partnering with Art Düsseldorf in support of young gallerists

1st October 2018

Celebrating entrepreneurial passion

Düsseldorf-based suitcase and travel luggage brand VOCIER supports the arts in the German State of North Rhine Westphalia as it jointly awards a prize for young gallerists at the 2018 Art Düsseldorf, taking place from November 16th to the 18th. During the event, 91 established galleries from 19 countries will display post-war and contemporary art in the renovated factory halls of Düsseldorf’s Areal Boehler.

VOCIER and Art Düsseldorf will support young gallerists in the event’s post-Lehman area with reduced gallery booth fees. The galleries displaying in this area are those that risked opening after September 15, 2008 – the day investment bank Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy — despite the worldwide financial crisis.

Additionally, the first “Post Lehman Award’’ sponsored by VOCIER will be officially conferred on November 15th. The Award’s recipient will receive 3,000 € plus a VOCIER luggage set worth 745 €. The prize will go to the art exhibit’s best post-Lehman booth presentation. VOCIER’s young founders, Michael Kogelnik and Vinzent Wuttke, are committed to the promotion of the urban cultural landscape with their support of galleries from the Rhine region, greater Germany, Benelux countries, and even internationally recognized artists.

The Award jury consists of respected art scene representatives, including Oriane Durand, Director of the Dortmund Art Society, Moritz Scheper, Art Director of the New Essen Art Association, and Maurice Funken, Director of the New Aachen Art Association.

Support the passionate entreprenuer

‘’In just its first edition last year, Art Düsseldorf proved itself as a regional platform with a global impact. We, too, are a young team that risked that first step into independence with the hopes, expectations, and vision that all start-ups share. For us, this type of developmental sponsorship is close to our hearts, and this is why we not only support these young galleries but also encourage the entrepreneurial passion of their founders,’’ said Vinzent Wuttke, VOCIER co-founder and CEO.
