Hybrid shell construction
Lightweight construction, heavyweight protection
Our hybrid luggage shell offers the structural integrity of a hard shell but is much lighter and has flexibility similar to soft shell luggage
We refer to our flexible hard shell luggage construction as ‘hybrid.’ It consists of a complex sandwich of 3 materials. First, a moldable thermal polymer layer provides structural strength and protection. This serves as the base for a thin, lightweight foam core. This core is then molded to a water-repellent, dust-resistant ballistic nylon mesh. These materials are finally bonded together through a complicated heat-transfer process. The end-product costs twice as much as plastics used by other luggage brands. Nevertheless, it is the only way to guarantee the durability which is so important for frequent and long-term use. Our unique hybrid construction offers all the structural and protective integrity of a hard shell. But, it provides the weight savings and flexibility of a soft shell.
