London is at the top of the list of places to visit and re-visit from our globetrotters here at VOCIER. It is a massive city, steeped in history and culture, and it is always evolving.... while also maintaining its special identity. We can only share a small portion of our must-dos and must-sees as there are too many to list, but we are sure that you will not be disappointed with this edition of VOCIER's City Guide.
London Eats

EATS:

  • Tavernaki Portobello - because Notting Hill... and good cozy greek eats
  • Amazonico - a very ornate interior, one of the few places to party after dinner until 3 am
  • Beluga - when craving Persian and Middle Eastern cuisine
  • The Aubrey -  known as the place for "eccentric Izayaka"
  • Poor boys - New Orleans comfort street food
  • St. John Bakery Arch - when the sweet tooth kicks in 
  • Clove Club - British menu using often-overlooked ingredients.
  • Fallow - creative cooking, sustainable thinking
  • Chishuru - Modern & traditional West African dishes served in a straightforward restaurant.

          INSIDER TIP:  You cannot head to London and not find an amazing Indian restaurant. Try Dishoom, Darjeeling Express, Madhu's, or Bombay Bustle.

          London Drinks

          DRINKS:

          • Mrs Riot - cheeky, bohemian, and live music - why not?
          • Incognito Kingston - a destination for mixed drinks, spirits & craft beers.
          • Three Sheets - intimate vibe; classic and modern
          • Bandra Bhai - trinkets, foreign liquor, gaudy art, and velvet upholstery for when the mood strikes.
          • Martinez - for the cocktail connoisseurs 
          INSIDER TIP:  In the mood for some day drinking? London has many excellent "bottomless brunch" options
              London Sleeps

              INSIDER TIP:  There are always new boutique hotels popping up. Find the neighborhood that speaks to you, and you'll be sure to find the right place to stay.

               

                    London Arts and Culture

                    ARTS & CULTURE:
                    • Harry Potter Experience - if that's your thing.
                    • Museums and Galleries - London is one of the best cities for seeing art - and most often for free. Starting with the Natural History Museum, Tate Modern, or the National Gall

                    London Get Outside

                     

                    GET OUTDISE:

                    • Baker Street - for Sherlock fans from here walk to nearby Regent’s Park, or by climbing Primrose Hill for London’s most spectacular view of the city.
                    • Brick Lane - For an art fix find Whitechapel Gallery or check out the many pieces of street art.
                    • Notting Hill - vibrant, trendy area, with casual cafes lining bohemian Portobello Road
                    • Aire - Ancient baths in the city

                    Get lost in the city and walk from Covent Garden to Trafalgar square and wherever those feet shall take you, take a signature black cabbie back home at the end of the day.

                    Time to escape the city:

                    Head over to Bath/Bristol where you can see some incredible history, including Stonehenge.

                    Take a quick jaunt to Canterbury and enjoy the quaint town and cathedral and then head to the coast for epic fish and chips or delicious fresh oysters with a glass of champagne.
